Watch: ICC in Friendly Banter With Ben Stokes Over ICC Test Team of the Decade Cap

Ben Stokes found the ICC Test Team of the Decade cap a bit too similar to England's biggest rivals Australia's 'Baggy Green' caps.

The International Cricket Council (ICC), on Sunday announced the T20, ODI and Test teams of the decade and notably, England’s star all-rounder Ben Stokes had got place in both ODI and Test teams of the decade.

The ICC also handed the caps to those who are named in the teams of the decade and meanwhile, Ben Stokes who too received the caps was not impressed with the one he received for the ICC Test Team of the Decade honour.

The England all-rounder took to social to express his dissatisfaction regarding the cap he received for the ICC Test Team of the Decade. On Twitter, he revealed that the cap he received resembled the Baggy Green cap of Australia, who are England’s arch-rivals.

“Very proud of both these cap’s, one of them just doesn’t seem right, it’s a bit BAGGY and GREEN thanks (sic),” Stokes wrote while sharing photos of the two caps on social media.

To this, the ICC responded with a meme, engaging in a funny banter with Ben Stokes.

Ben Stokes, is undoubtedly a gem for England Cricket team. He has been very impressive in the last few years. Back in 2019, he scripted England’s spectacular comeback win over Australia in the Ashes. His Headingley knock remains one of the greatest modern-day Test innings.

The New Zealand-born all-rounder has been one of the most exciting cricketers in the decade.

In 67 Tests, Stokes has scored 4428 runs at an average of 37.84, while picking 158 wickets as well. In ODIs, he has 2682 runs and 70 wickets in 95 matches.

Stokes also played a crucial role in helping England win the 2019 World Cup. His 84 not out in a thrilling chase that resulted in a tied Super Over helped England seal their maiden title.
