When Will IPL 2025 Schedule Be Announced? BCCI Confirms
IPL 2025 will start from March 22 with the opening match set to take place between RCB and KKR at Eden Gardens.
The 18th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will start on March 22, 2025. The first match will be played at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. It will be between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).
RCB has also announced Rajat Patidar as their new captain for the upcoming season.
The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), who finished second last season, will begin their matches at home. They will play against Rajasthan Royals (RR) at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad on March 23.
When Will the Full Schedule Be Released?
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has not yet officially announced the full IPL schedule. But reports say the schedule might be announced next week.
The final match of IPL 2025 will be held at Eden Gardens, Kolkata, on May 25.
The playoff matches will be played in two cities:
- Qualifier 1 and the Eliminator: Hyderabad
- Qualifier 2 and the Final: Kolkata
New Venues in IPL 2025
Apart from the 10 main venues, two new cities will also host matches:
- Guwahati: Rajasthan Royals will play matches here on March 26 and 30. Their opponents will be Kolkata Knight Riders and Chennai Super Kings.
- Dharamsala: Punjab Kings will play some home matches here. Reports suggest three matches will be played at this stadium.
