SCO vs ZIM Highlights: Zimbabwe Outclass Scotland by Five Wickets to Qualify For the Super-12

Scotland vs Zimbabwe, T20 World Cup 2022 - Highlights: Craig Ervine's captain's knock led Zimbabwe to book their spot in Super-12.

Zimbabwe registered a thumping five-wicket victory over Scotland on Friday, October 21 in Hobart to book their berth in the Super 12 stage of the mega event.

Chasing the paltry total of 133 runs, Craig Ervine bludgeoned a sensational half-century to help Zimbabwe overhaul the target in just 18.3 overs with five wickets in hand.

Skipper Craig Ervine played a captain’s knock and led the batting charge of Zimbabwe from the front. The southpaw smashed 58 runs from 54 balls with the help of six boundaries.

Apart from Ervine, Sikandar Raza also played a match-winning knock of 40 runs off just 23 deliveries, studded with three boundaries and two towering sixes.

For Scotland, Josh Davey picked two wickets while conceding just 16 runs in his three overs’ spell while the likes of Bradley Wheal, Mark Watt, and Michael Alexander Leask also grabbed a wicket apiece.

George Munsey Helped Scotland Post a Fighting Total

Earlier, Richard Barrington’s decision of batting first backfired big time as they failed to post any challenging total on the board. Thanks to George Munsey’s half-century knock, Scotland managed to breach the 130-run mark.

Apart from Munsey, who clobbered 54 runs off 51 balls, Calum MacLeod (25 off 26), Michael Alexander Leask (12 off 9) and Richard Barrington (13 off 15) also chipped in with handy contributions with the bat.

On the bowling front, Tendai Chatara and Richard Ngarava picked a couple of wickets each for Zimbabwe while Blessing Muzarabani and Sikandar Raza grabbed one wicket each.
