‘Wo Kya Chand Se Utar Ke Aya Hai?’ – Ex-Mumbai Indians Pacer Attacks Hardik Pandya Ahead of IPL 2024

Praveen Kumar accuses BCCI of being partial towards Hardik Pandya.

Former Indian fast bowler Praveen Kumar has slammed the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) decision to award Hardik Pandya a central contract despite his non-involvement in all three cricket formats.

Notably, Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan were dropped from the BCCI’s central contract after opting out of the Ranji Trophy for their states, while Hardik Pandya maintains his contract despite irregular international appearances, let alone domestic cricket.

The BCCI’s move has sparked controversy among cricket pundits and fans, who accuse the board of showing favouritism by excluding Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan from the central contract despite their commendable performances for India in limited opportunities.

In an interview with Subhankar Mishra on his YouTube channel, Praveen Kumar expressed his belief that the BCCI shouldn’t grant special treatment to Hardik Pandya, insisting that he should be required to play across all formats and engage in domestic cricket like his peers.

Here’s what Praveeb Kumar said:

“Pandya kahi chand se utar k aya hai. Khelna padega isko bhi. Kyun iske liye alag niyam hai? Isko bhi Board ko dhamkana chahiye. Teeno format khel.”
