“Ya To Win Ya Lun Hai” – Mohammad Rizwan Shares Regret Over Not Learning English

Mohammad Rizwan admits he regrets not learning English but says he’s not ashamed of it.

Mohammad Rizwan, the captain of the Pakistan cricket team and skipper of Multan Sultans, has finally spoken out about the constant trolling he faces for his English. Ahead of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025, Rizwan made it clear that he’s not bothered by the comments on social media about his language.

During a press conference, Rizwan shared that while he regrets not completing his education, he is not ashamed of the fact that he can’t speak English fluently.

As quoted by Geo News, he said, “I regret not completing my education, which is why I don’t know English, but I am not ashamed that as Pakistan’s captain, I cannot speak English.”

He also pointed out that his job is to play cricket, not to speak perfect English.

“The demand from me is to play cricket, not to speak English. If Pakistan wanted English, I would become a professor, learn it, and return. But Pakistan asks me for cricket, not English,” Rizwan added confidently.

The Pakistan team has been facing tough times lately. Their poor performance has attracted a lot of criticism from fans and experts. Amid all this, Rizwan has requested critics to go beyond just blaming the team and offer suggestions to help them improve.

“It’s fine to criticise the team, but also guide us on how to improve. Recently, during the Champions Trophy, Wasim Akram gave us advice. I wanted to talk more with him, but there wasn’t enough time,” he said.

Rizwan also believes that character and confidence matter more than language. He stressed that being fluent in English does not define a person’s worth or ability to lead a team.

Currently, Rizwan is leading Multan Sultans in PSL 2025. With his leadership being questioned after Pakistan’s 3-0 ODI series loss to New Zealand and their early exit from the Champions Trophy 2025, he now has a good opportunity to prove his critics wrong and lead by example in the tournament.
