Yashasvi Jaiswal Seeks NOC to Leave Mumbai, Set to Join Goa

Yashasvi Jaiswal has requested a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) to switch to Goa for the 2025-26 season.

Yashasvi Jaiswal has decided to leave Mumbai cricket and join Goa from the next domestic season. He has officially requested a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) to make this move for the 2025-26 season. According to reports, he has cited personal reasons for this decision.

A source in the MCA confirmed that Jaiswal has asked for the NOC and is likely to shift to Goa, similar to how Arjun Tendulkar and Siddhesh Lad moved from Mumbai in the past. Some reports also suggest that Jaiswal might lead the Goa team next season if MCA grants him clearance.

Jaiswal last played for Mumbai in a Ranji Trophy match against Jammu and Kashmir. Following the BCCI’s rule that requires national players to participate in domestic cricket when available, he opened the innings alongside Rohit Sharma. However, he struggled in that match, scoring only 4 and 26 runs in his two innings. Despite having multiple star players, Mumbai lost the match to Jammu and Kashmir.

Jaiswal has been a key player for Mumbai since his U19 days. He made his first-class debut for the team in January 2019 against Chhattisgarh. Over the years, he has performed well, scoring 3712 runs in first-class cricket, including 12 centuries and 12 fifties in 36 matches. His departure will be a big change for Mumbai cricket.

Currently, Jaiswal is playing for Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League (IPL), but he is struggling for form. In the three matches played so far, he has managed to score only 34 runs at an average of 11.33 and a strike rate of 106.25. His next match will be against Punjab Kings on April 5 in Mullanpur.
