‘You Were a Fraud From Day One!’ – Shoaib Akhtar DESTROYS Babar Azam
Shoaib Akhtar lambasted Babar Azam and called him fraud.

Pakistan’s latest defeat against India in the Champions Trophy 2025 has intensified the criticism surrounding their team, especially former captain Babar Azam. The loss on Sunday has put Pakistan at serious risk of an early exit from the tournament, which they are hosting.
Pakistan have not beaten India in an ODI since the 2017 Champions Trophy final, and with another poor performance, Babar has become the main target of criticism. He managed only 23 runs off 26 balls, failing to lead from the front when his team needed him the most.
Shoaib Akhtar Slams Babar Azam
Former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar did not hold back while criticizing Babar. Speaking on PTV Sports, Akhtar compared Babar to Virat Kohli and questioned his approach to the game.
“Let’s try to sum up Virat Kohli a little bit. Now tell me, who is the hero of Virat Kohli? Sachin Tendulkar has scored 100 centuries, and Virat is chasing his legacy,” Akhtar said.
“Who is Babar Azam’s hero? Tuk tuk (Without naming any cricketer). You have picked the wrong heroes. Your thought process is wrong. You were a fraud from the beginning. You were caught from the beginning. You made it clear in the ICC Champions Trophy itself that ‘I have become No. 1 for one and a half days.’ You are not No. 1. You promoted the wrong people.”
Virat Kohli’s Gesture Towards Babar Azam
Despite the heavy criticism, Babar received a show of support from Virat Kohli. Before the match, Kohli was seen patting Babar on the back, exchanging a few words with him as Pakistan openers walked out to bat.
However, Babar is now under immense pressure, not just from fans but also from former cricketers. With Pakistan’s campaign hanging by a thread, it remains to be seen if he will continue in the playing XI or face the axe in the upcoming matches.
