The current season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has been the most disturbing season for CSK fans. This is the first time in the history of the IPL that CSK couldn’t qualify the playoffs despite playing the season. Not just this, they are currently sitting on the bottom of the points table.

On Friday, CSK suffered the most humiliating loss in the history of IPL. Rohit Sharma led Mumbai Indians defeated Chennai Super Kings by 10 wickets. This was the first instance that CSK had lost a match by ten wickets in the history of the IPL. It was also their biggest defeat in terms of balls remaining.

Mumbai Indians stand-in captain Kieron Pollard won the toss and opted to bowl first. Batting first, CSK suffered a huge collapse at the top, going down to 24/5 in the powerplay.

The 22-year-old Sam Curran then played a fighting 52-run knock, but it was not enough for CSK to put on a challenging total. CSK managed to score only 114 runs in the allotted 20 overs.

With Ishan Kishan (68) along with his opening partner Quinton de Kock (46) played a match-winning innings for MI and helped their side in marking a historical win.

Meanwhile, former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag comes in support of MS Dhoni and stated that the youngsters have let Dhoni down.

Ruturaj Gaikwad and N Jagadeesan were given a chance in playing XI against Mumbai Indians but they couldn’t make an impact as both got dismissed before scoring a run.

“This loss against Mumbai will hurt for a very long time. This hurts even more as MS Dhoni might feel that I have tried my youngsters today and they have disappointed me once again. They should have at least scored some runs for themselves and should have taken time to have a taste of the tournament,” Sehwag was quoted as saying on Cricbuzz.

“If the youngsters could have carried the team to a respectable total of 140-150 runs, MS Dhoni would have been contented with that performance. Dhoni would be a lot more hurt as the youngsters have let him down. It will be interesting to see how they make a comeback from here,” the veteran added
