Yuvraj Singh, About to Make a Comeback After Announcing Retirement Last Year
Yuvraj Singh was recently seen helping young cricketers from Punjab and now he can also be seen playing T20 cricket from Punjab.
All-rounder king Yuvraj Singh may soon appear on the cricket field once again. The veteran has announced that he can be seen playing T20 cricket in India soon. Yuvi had said goodbye to cricket in June 2019 and he was playing in a foreign league with the permission of the BCCI. Because of this, Yuvraj could not play IPL either. However, now Yuvraj Singh can be seen playing T20 cricket from the Punjab team.
According to Cricbuzz, Yuvraj Singh is all set to return to T20 cricket. Yuvraj Singh was recently seen helping young cricketers from Punjab and now he can also be seen playing T20 cricket from this team.
“I enjoyed spending time with these youngsters, and talking to them about various aspects of the game, I realised that they were able to pick up various things that I was telling them,” Yuvraj said on Wednesday to Cricbuzz.
He also confirmed his comeback plans.
“I had to get into the nets to show them a few other elements, and I was pleasantly surprised at how well I was hitting the ball even though I hadn’t held a bat for a long time”, said Yuvi in a recent interview with Cricbuzz.
Yuvi was seen passing time and helping the youth in the offseason camp of Punjab.
Apart from this, he also worked on his fitness in the last two months. Yuvraj Singh trained and started batting practice as well. Yuvraj also scored good runs in practice matches. Yuvraj said that Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) secretary Puneet Bali contacted Yuvraj Singh and asked him to return from retirement.
“I also trained for those two months, and then I started to bat in the off-season camp. I made runs in some of the practice matches. Mr Puneet Bali, the secretary of the Punjab Cricket Association, approached me after one of the sessions and asked me if I would reconsider coming out of retirement”, Yuvi said.
Yuvraj said that he has already said goodbye to domestic cricket but I cannot deny Puneet Bali’s offer.
“Initially, I wasn’t sure that I wanted to take up the offer”, said Yuvraj.
“I was done with domestic cricket, though I did want to continue to play in other domestic franchise-based leagues worldwide if I got permission from the BCCI. But I also couldn’t ignore Mr Bali’s request. I gave it a lot of thought, for nearly three or four weeks, and it was almost as if I didn’t even have to make a conscious decision in the end,” he added.
