Yuzvendra Chahal Picks IPL Franchise He Would Like To Play For If Not RCB

Yuzvendra Chahal has played 106 IPL games and picked up 125 wickets at an average of 23.30.

The past few months might not have been easy for Yuzvendra Chahal but the leg-spinner still remains a crucial player both for the Indian cricket team and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in white-ball cricket.

Chahal, who has only played for two franchises in his Indian Premier League (IPL) career, was recently asked which franchise he would like to play for if not RCB. To this, Chahal picked the name of Chennai Super Kings. Considering the sort of environment CSK have for spinners, it isn’t much of a surprise that the Chahal picked the MS Dhoni-led side.

Chahal has played 106 IPL games and picked up 125 wickets at an average of 23.30. He also has a decent economy rate of 7.70. The Haryana-born bowler was first picked up by the Mumbai Indians franchise back in 2011. He only played one game in 2013 season before being dropped into the players’ pool at the next auction. Chahal was then picked up by RCB ahead of the 2014 spinner and has been a part of the side since.

Currently, Chahal is not part of India’s tour of England. The white-ball specialist could be seen next during India’s tour of Sri Lanka. India is set to send a second-string side to Sri Lanka for the limited-overs series in July.

In the now-suspended IPL, Chahal picked up four wickets in seven matches. He has not been at his best this season and that means his chances of making the T20 World Cup squad are in question with the emergence of spinners like Varun Chakravarthy, Ravi Bishnoi, and Rahul Chahar.

IPL 2021 Remaining Part Rescheduled In UAE

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have already announced that the remainder of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 will be played in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The board decided to organise the remaining matches of IPL in the months of September and October considering the monsoon season in India in those months.

The IPL was postponed after a flurry of cases emerged inside the bio-bubble with players and support staff from Kolkata Knight Riders, Chennai Super Kings and SunRisers Hyderabad among other teams testing positive for the virus in succession. As many as 29 matches were held this season before the tournament came to a halt.
