New Zealand tour of Pakistan 2024

Ahead of the T20 World Cup 2024, Pakistan are hosting New Zealand in the five-match T20I series, which will kick off at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Thursday, April 18.

The first leg of the series will see three matches being played in Rawalpindi on April 18, 20, and 21, before both teams head to Lahore's iconic Gaddafi Stadium for the final two T20Is, scheduled for April 25 and 27.

Babar Azam, who has been reappointed as the captain of Pakistan recently, will be leading the side. The Men in Green are bolstered with the return of seasoned campaigners Mohammad Amir and Imad Wasim, who have reversed their retirement decision to play the T20 World Cup 2024.

On the other hand, New Zealand's squad, led by Michael Bracewell, features a blend of emerging talents and seasoned campaigners.

However, they will miss the firepower of key players like Kane Williamson, Devon Conway, and Trent Boult, and Lockie Ferguson who are busy plying their trade in the Indian Premier League 2024.

Furthermore, their pace spearhead Tim Southee, Colin Munro, Will Young and Tom Latham are also not available for this series. Meanwhile, Adam Milne and Finn Allen have sustained injuries and ruled out of the series.

With the highly-anticipated T20 World Cup 2024 just weeks away, teams are focused on delivering standout performances to cement their positions in the tournament.
