IPL 2024: James Franklin Replaces Dale Steyn As SRH Bowling Coach
Dale Steyn has decided to take a break from IPL.
James Franklin, the former New Zealand cricketer and coach, is set to take over the bowling coach position at Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), replacing Dale Steyn.
Franklin, who previously represented Mumbai Indians, is embarking on his inaugural coaching role alongside Daniel Vettori, the team’s head coach.
As reported by ESPN Cricinfo, Dale Steyn has withdrawn from the upcoming season for personal reasons.
James Franklin will step in alongside Daniel Vettori in his absence. Notably, Franklin brings coaching experience from his previous role as head coach at Durham and his current position as an assistant coach at Islamabad United in PSL 2024.
Franklin and Vettori have a history of collaboration, having previously teamed up at Middlesex in county cricket and Birmingham Phoenix during The Hundred tournament.
