IPL 2024: Murali Karthik Calls Yash Dayal ‘Trash’ On Air During RCB vs PBKS Match
Excerpt: RCB acquired Yash Dayal for INR 5 Crore in IPL 2024 mini-auction.
The former Indian cricketer, Murali Kartik, compared the newly recruited fast bowler of Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), Yash Dhal, to ‘trash’ on air while doing commentary in the IPL 2024 match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Punjab Kings.
Notably, the Uttar Pradesh pacer, Yash Dayal, who was released by the Gujarat Titans (GT) ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 auction, was acquired by the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the 2024 mini auction for INR 5 crore.
Yash Dayal, who played for Gujarat Titans in IPL 2023, featured in five matches for them and picked up two wickets. However, he faced a setback during the match against Kolkata Knight Riders when Rinku Singh hammered him for five sixes to take his side to victory.
Following that match, Yash Dayal’s confidence took a severe blow. To compound matters, he was subsequently omitted from the Gujarat Titans team and didn’t make any further appearances before being released ahead of IPL 2024.
Here, Murali Kartik compared Yash Dayal to trash, stating that someone’s trash is someone’s treasure, implying that Yash Dayal was considered trash for Gujarat Titans but is now seen as a treasure for Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
Yash Dayal played against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the tournament opener and was a bit expensive, but he managed to pick up one wicket. The team showed faith in him once again and included him in the playing XI against Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the match currently underway at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
