PAK vs NZ: Babar Azam Overtakes Aaron Finch for Most T20I Runs as Captain

The Babar Azam-led Pakistan team suffered a seven-wicket defeat against New Zealand in the 3rd T20I on Sunday, April 21, at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

Batting first, Pakistan managed to score 178 runs for the loss of four wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. In reply, New Zealand chased down the target in just 18.2 overs, with Mark Chapman scoring an unbeaten 87 runs from just 42 balls.

Babar Azam managed to score 37 runs from 29 balls. With this, Babar Azam has now surpassed Aaron Finch to become the batter with the most runs in T20Is as captain, with 2246 runs, surpassing Finch’s 2236 runs.

• 2236 – Aaron Finch (Australia)
• 2125 – Kane Williamson (New Zealand)

RECORD ALERT: Babar Azam now holds the record of most runs as captain in T20Is. He just surpassed Australia's Aaron Finch, who had scored 2236 runs in 76 innings as captain. Babar was playing 67th inning as captain today. Babar also completed hitting 400 fours in T20Is today.
