Delhi Capitals (DC), originally launched as Delhi Daredevils, is one of the founding franchises of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The franchise is co-owned by the GMR Group and the JSW Group. In 2019, the team rebranded itself to Delhi Capitals to mark a new beginning and improve their fortunes in the league. The team sports blue and red jerseys, and are yet to lift the IPL trophy.

Despite having some of the biggest names in cricket over the years—such as AB de Villiers, Gautam Gambhir, Virender Sehwag, and David Warner—the Capitals have never managed to win the IPL trophy. However, they reached their first-ever final in 2020, only to fall short against the Mumbai Indians. Known for grooming young talents and giving them big opportunities, Delhi Capitals has been a competitive side in recent seasons, consistently reaching the playoffs.

The Arun Jaitley Stadium is the home of Delhi Capitals. The Arun Jaitley Stadium, located in the heart of Delhi, offers an exciting atmosphere with fans rallying behind the team. The Capitals enjoy solid support on home turf, where matches often feature packed stands and high-energy chants.

In IPL 2024, Ricky Ponting parted ways with the franchise after seven years as head coach. His tenure was instrumental in building a balanced team with a strong core. Now, Sourav Ganguly leads the cricket operations, while captain Rishabh Pant aims to take the team to their first IPL title in the upcoming seasons.
