In a defining moment for Shashank Singh, he notched up his first-ever IPL half-century and played a pivotal role in Punjab Kings’ (PBKS) nail-biting three-wickets win over Gujarat Titans (GT) on Thursday, April 4 at Narendra Modi Stadium, Lucknow.

In only his second IPL gig, at the ripe age of 32, this Chhattisgarh hitter, who’s done time with Puducherry, hammered an undefeated 61 off just 29 deliveries, driving PBKS to a thrilling three-wicket triumph against GT’s daunting 200-run target.

When Punjab Kings seemed doomed, Shashank Singh swooped in and saved the day. However, it was pretty disheartening that when he smashed that half-century and kept the run-chase alive, not a single PBKS teammate bothered to stand up and clap, which even the commentator Akash Chopra found hard to swallow.

However, the fact is, the entire Punjab Kings dugout celebrated Shashank Singh’s half-century by standing up and applauding, but due to a glitch on the big screen, it was not telecast at that time. This revelation was made by tge social media Influencer, Piyush Sharma, who travels with the team.

People suggesting nobody celebrated Shashank Singh’s 50 in the stadium yday … the scoreboard was glitching (showed 47/48 instead of 50) for a long time and even the announcer made mistakes about his 50 in the stadium. Hence the confusion.
