IPL 2024: ‘When Was the Last Indian Cricketer Booed in India’ – Kevin Pietersen On Hardik Pandya
Hardik Pandya got booed by Ahmedabad crowd during toss against Gujarat Titans.
The former England captain, Kevin Pietersen, has reacted after the Ahmedabad crowd booed the newly appointed Mumbai Indians captain, Hardik Pandya, during the toss in the fifth match against Gujarat Titans at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.
During the commentary, Kevin Pietersen asked his co-commentators, “When was the last time any Indian player got booed like this in India itself?” As expected, the other commentators had no answer to it.
Notably, Hardik Pandya led the Gujarat Titans for two consecutive seasons, guiding them to the title in 2022 and to the final in 2023, before leaving the franchise and rejoining his former team, the Mumbai Indians, under the condition of being appointed as the captain.
However, this move isn’t sitting right with either Mumbai Indians or Gujarat Titans fans. Mumbai Indians fans feel the management’s done Rohit Sharma dirty, the guy who brought home 5 IPL titles. Meanwhile, Gujarat Titans fans feel like Hardik Pandya’s stabbing them in the back.
