The IPL 2025 season kicked off with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) taking on Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Eden Gardens. RCB won the toss and opted to bowl first, restricting KKR to 178 in 20 overs.
Chasing 179, RCB got off to a flying start, thanks to explosive batting from Phil Salt and Virat Kohli. Kohli smashed a half-century in just 30 balls, keeping RCB in control of the chase.
During the match, an unexpected incident occurred when a fan ran onto the field and touched Kohli’s feet after he completed his fifty. Security personnel quickly intervened, removing the fan from the stadium. Despite the interruption, Kohli remained focused as RCB pushed towards victory.
