SA vs AFG: [Watch] Rashid Khan Loses Cool on Noor Ahmad After Fielding Blunder vs South Africa in Champions Trophy 2025

Rashid Khan lost his cool at Noor Ahmad after a misfield during Afghanistan's Champions Trophy clash against South Africa.

Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan is known for his calm demeanor on the field, but during the Champions Trophy 2025 clash against South Africa, the Afghan skipper lost his cool after a fielding lapse by his teammate Noor Ahmad.

Afghanistan, after being put into the field first, struggled to contain South African batters, especially Ryan Rickelton, who was in supreme touch. The bowlers were already under pressure when a misfield by Noor Ahmad further added to their frustration.

During one of Rashid Khan’s overs, Rickelton flicked a leg-break delivery towards Noor Ahmad, stationed at mid-wicket. Noor put in a dive, but the ball slipped past him, allowing the batters to steal a second run.

Rashid, visibly frustrated, stared angrily at Noor Ahmad for his lazy effort, making it clear that he wasn’t happy with the fielder’s mistake.

Ryan Rickelton’s Century Knock

Meanwhile, Ryan Rickelton continued his fine form, punishing the Afghan bowlers with a well-paced century. He reached the three-figure mark in 101 balls, anchoring South Africa’s innings.

Other South African batters also chipped in with valuable contributions. Temba Bavuma scored 58 runs, building an early partnership with Rickelton. Rassie van der Dussen added 52 runs, further strengthening the innings. At the time of writing, Aiden Markram and David Miller were at the crease, looking to push the total beyond 300 runs.

Noor Ahmad’s Struggles With the Ball

Noor Ahmad, apart from his fielding error, also had a tough day with the ball. So far, he has bowled seven overs, conceding 47 runs and picking up one wicket. However, he struggled with line and length, delivering multiple wides and failing to build pressure.
