[Watch] CATCH OF THE SEASON? Kagiso Rabada’s Screamer Puts MI Cape Town on Top!
Kagiso Rabada pulled off a breathtaking catch in the SA20 final.
They say catches win matches, but in this case, a catch might just win a tournament. Kagiso Rabada took an exceptional catch to dismiss Sunrisers Eastern Cape captain Aiden Markram, shifting the momentum firmly in MI Cape Town’s favor during the SA20 2025 final.
The moment happened in the 12th over, on the second delivery bowled by George Linde. Markram attempted a drive but only managed an outside edge. Rabada, stationed at point, reacted swiftly to his right and grabbed the ball with both hands. It was a sharp take, and with half of the Sunrisers’ lineup back in the pavilion, MI Cape Town erupted in celebration. Markram was dismissed for just 6 runs off 5 balls.

Sunrisers Eastern Cape in Deep Trouble
Chasing 182 for victory, Sunrisers Eastern Cape found themselves in serious trouble at 92/6 after 14.5 overs. The top order failed to build partnerships, with wickets falling at regular intervals.
David Bedingham (5) was the first to go, followed by Jordan Hermann (1) and Tom Abell (30), who was stumped off George Linde’s bowling. Tony de Zorzi (26) showed some fightback but was trapped lbw by Rashid Khan. After Markram’s dismissal, Tristan Stubbs (15) also fell, leaving the defending champions in a desperate position.
With only Marco Jansen and the tailenders remaining, Sunrisers Eastern Cape needed a miracle to pull off a comeback. MI Cape Town’s bowlers, led by Trent Boult (2/8) and George Linde (2/17), had complete control as they looked to seal their first-ever SA20 title.
