India-origin player Nikhil Chaudhary stole the show with a stunning 80-metre six that had the crowd cheering loudly.
Nikhil Chaudhary Shines Against Sixers
The Sydney Sixers decided to bowl first after winning the toss. The Hurricanes got off to a strong start, with Mitchell Owen smashing 33 runs from just 17 balls. He partnered with Matthew Wade to build a solid 45-run opening stand. However, Hayden Kerr broke the partnership, leaving the Hurricanes needing to recover.

Nikhil Chaudhary stepped up when it mattered most. In the 12th over, facing Ben Dwarshuis, he played a brilliant shot. The ball, bowled at 134.5 km/h on a good length, was sent flying 80 metres over the square leg boundary. The crowd erupted as Chaudhary’s powerful strike showed his timing and confidence under pressure.
Hurricanes Dominate the Game
After early dismissals, Chaudhary and Ben McDermott steadied the innings with smart cricket. They started cautiously but used the Power Surge to add 33 runs quickly. McDermott scored 34 from 25 balls, while Chaudhary made a valuable 42 off 31 deliveries. However, both batters were dismissed soon after, with Jackson Bird and Jack Edwards picking up their wickets.
Chris Jordan added some quick runs at the end, helping the Hurricanes finish at 161/6 in 20 overs.
Sixers Collapse in the Chase
The Sydney Sixers struggled from the beginning of their chase. They lost early wickets, including Josh Philippe and James Vince, and never recovered. Chris Jordan bowled brilliantly, taking 3/22, while Waqar Salamkheil picked up two wickets. The Sixers were bowled out for just 111 runs in 19.3 overs, handing the Hurricanes a commanding 50-run win.
