The Shreyas Iyer-led Punjab Kings pulled off one of the most thrilling wins of IPL 2025 as they defeated Kolkata Knight Riders in a low-scoring game at the new Chandigarh stadium. Defending just 111 runs, Punjab Kings created history by becoming the first team to win a match with such a low total in the tournament’s history.

Preity Zinta’s Emotional Reaction After Win

Kolkata Knight Riders needed only 112 runs to win and move to the top of the points table. But Punjab Kings kept picking wickets one after another and bowled out KKR for just 95. After the final wicket, PBKS co-owner Preity Zinta couldn’t hide her happiness. She looked emotional and full of joy, cheering loudly as her team pulled off a stunning win.

Chahal and Jansen Shine With The Ball

Punjab’s bowlers were the real heroes in this game. Yuzvendra Chahal, who had only two wickets in the tournament before this match, took 4 for 28 to turn the game. Marco Jansen also bowled brilliantly, taking 3 for 17. Their bowling made it tough for KKR to chase even a small target. Though Andre Russell tried to fight back, it wasn’t enough. Punjab Kings went on to grab their fourth win of the season in style.
