[Watch] Renuka Singh Knocks Over Laura Wolvaardt with a Peach in WPL 2025 Opener
Laura Wolvaardt could only manage six runs against RCB women.
Renuka Singh, India’s premier pacer and the leader of RCB’s bowling attack, has started the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025 in style. She delivered a stunning inswinger to dismiss the dangerous Laura Wolvaardt, bagging the first wicket of the tournament and giving RCB fans an early reason to cheer.
Renuka Singh’s Perfect Inswinger
The moment came in the third delivery of the fifth over when RCB desperately needed a breakthrough. Laura Wolvaardt and Beth Mooney were looking settled, and if they had survived the powerplay, it could have been trouble for Smriti Mandhana’s side.
Renuka bowled a good-length delivery that swung in slightly and pitched around off stump. Wolvaardt attempted a wild slog but got an inside edge, and the ball crashed into the stumps. She departed for just six runs, giving RCB the opening they needed.
