[Watch] Shabnim Ismail’s Lightning Delivery Rips Apart Shafali Verma’s Stump in WPL 2024 Opener

In the inaugural match of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2024 between Mumbai Indians Women and Delhi Capitals Women at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore, Mumbai Indians’ fast bowler Shabnim Ismail delivered a thunderbolt to dismiss Delhi Capitals opener Shafali Verma.

Coming in over the wicket, Ismail executed a precise delivery, landing it on a good length just outside off stump. With a hint of movement off the pitch, Shafali attempted a front-foot slog but failed to make contact. The ball skidded through, evading her bat and crashing into the middle stump. It all happened on the first ball of the second over.

Shafali Verma was really struggling with the bat as she could only manage to score one run from eight balls before getting out. Earlier, the Mumbai Indians captain Harmanpreet Kaur won the toss and opted to bowl first.
