CSK Batter Devon Conway Suffers Thumb Injury Ahead of IPL 2024

Devon Conway suffered thumb injury during NZ vs AUS 2nd T20I.

As the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 approaches, the Chennai Super Kings are contending with injuries sidelining several of their key players.

After Shivam Dube’s setback, Rachin Ravindra from New Zealand was sidelined for the second T20I due to knee issues. Additionally, CSK’s Devon Conway suffered a thumb injury while attempting a catch in the same match against Australia.

Conway’s injury appears severe, given his absence from batting, contributing to New Zealand‘s 72-run loss and falling behind 0-2 in the series. However, New Zealand’s official Twitter account provided an injury update, confirming no fracture for the player.

“An X-ray has cleared Devon Conway of an obvious fracture to his left thumb and he has returned to the ground. He will be further reviewed tomorrow. There’s no current update on whether he will bat,” New Zealand cricket said.

Conway’s injury adds him to the list of injured players for Chennai Super Kings, alongside Rachin Ravindra, Shivam Dube, Daryl Mitchell, and Mustafizur Rahman.
