Delhi Capitals star opener Prithvi Shaw has been discharged from hospital and has returned to the team hotel following a bout of typhoid, the franchise confirmed on social media on Sunday.

“Delhi Capitals opener Prithvi Shaw has been discharged from the hospital where he was being treated for a bout of typhoid. Shaw has returned to the team hotel where he is currently recuperating, while being monitored by the DC medical team,” the Delhi Capitals wrote in their official release.

The right-hander opening batter has missed the last three games due to high fever but he was confirmed to be available for the rest of the season recently after receiving treatment.

Shaw has been in good touch, scoring 259 runs in 9 matches with 2 half-centuries at a strike rate of 159.87 giving excellent starts to his team in powerplay overs. In his absence, team has failed to find a potential replacement to partner with David Warner at the top as both Mandeep Singh and S Bharat failed to provide a good start to the team.

Delhi Capitals are currently fifth in the IPL 2022 table with six wins and as many losses, and they still have two crucial games in hand and Shaw’s return might help their task easy.
