Did Virat Kohli Receive Terrorist Threats? Fact-Checking the RCB Practice Cancellation

RCB reportedly cancelled their practice session at Narendra Modi Stadium after receiving threats.

The upcoming IPL 2024 Eliminator match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) has been shrouded in controversy due to rumours of a cancelled RCB practice session due to security threats directed at Virat Kohli.

Several news outlets reported that RCB’s only practice session before the crucial Eliminator was cancelled due to security concerns surrounding Virat Kohli. This cancellation supposedly arose from a potential terrorist threat.

However, later reports paint a different picture. Apparently, both RR and RCB were informed about the arrest of suspected terrorists. While RR continued with their practice session, RCB decided to forgo theirs and inform the police. Importantly, there wasn’t a scheduled press conference to cancel, as some reports claimed.

Current Situation:

The Eliminator match is still on schedule, with both teams gearing up for the high-stakes encounter. Rajasthan Royals finished the season in third place, while Royal Challengers Bengaluru secured their spot through a strong second-half performance.
