Shadab Khan compares Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium pitch with Rawalpindi's stadium
Pakistan vice-captain Shadab Khan, drew a comparison between the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad and Rawalpindi’s stadium, noting that both venues feature flat pitches and shorter boundaries.
This came after Pakistan’s warm-up match against New Zealand at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, where the Men in Green chose to bat first and posted a total of 345 runs. In his debut on Indian soil, Mohammad Rizwan scored a century, while Captain Babar Azam contributed 80 runs.
In reply, Pakistan’s bowlers struggled to make breakthroughs, allowing New Zealand to easily reach the target in 43.4 overs. Notably, Pakistan’s pace spearhead, Shaheen Shah Afridi, missed the warm-up match against the Black Caps, while Hasan Ali, filling in for Naseem Shah, took one wicket.
Pakistan is scheduled to participate in another warm-up match against Australia on October 3, at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad. Following that, Pakistan will commence its World Cup 2023 journey against the Netherlands on October 6 at the same venue in Hyderabad.
