Imad Wasim took retirement from international cricket last year.
Former Pakistan all-rounder Imad Wasim revealed that there were no discussions regarding his potential return to the national team with Pakistan’s T20I skipper, Shaheen Afridi, during their participation in the International League T20 (ILT20).
Notably, Imad Wasim announced his retirement from international cricket last year and is currently only participating in franchise tournaments. Currently, he is playing for Abu Dhabi Knight Riders in ILT20, where Shaheen Afridi is representing Desert Vipers.
During a conversation with a local sports website, Imad advised Shaheen to believe in his gut feeling and always put Pakistan’s well-being first before making decisions. Here’s what the 35-year-old said:
“Shaheen is like my younger brother. I would advise him to approach everything with sincerity, prioritizing what is in the best interest of Pakistan. He has people around him, who can give him good suggestions.”
During the discussion, Imad also reflected on Pakistan’s T20I series against New Zealand and highlighted Shaheen’s strategic manoeuvre of exploring different opening pairs. He also emphasized the importance of continuing these experiments before the World Cup kicks off.
