IND vs AUS: Moises Henriques Added to Australia Test Squad, Fast Bowler Sean Abbot Ruled Out With Injury

Moises Henriques has been added to the Australia Test Squad after Sean Abbott ruled out due to calf injury as the hosts gear up for the most-awaited 4-Test match series against India.

Australia on Monday announced the addition of Moises Henriques to the Test Squad after Sean Abbott ruled out due to calf injury as the hosts gear up for the most-awaited 4-Test match series against India.

Moises Henriques will travel to Adelaide along with the rest of the Australian squad from Sydney while Sean Abbott misses out after picking up the calf injury during the 3-day pink-ball warm-up match for Australia A against India at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

Abbott’s calf issue comes as another blow for the hosts as David Warner earlier this week also ruled out if the first Test in Adelaide. On Saturday, Will Pucovski was also ruled out from the first Test after getting hit on the head in the first warm-up match against India.

Henriques was set to play the pink-ball warm-up match for Australia A but was ruled out late due to low-grade hamstring. However, the in-form all-rounder has recovered in time to be part of the Tim Paine-led Australia squad for the day-night Test in Adelaide, starting December 17.

Henriques played 2 ODIs and all 3 T20Is against India and performed really well in all the five matches.

However, there is a piece of good news is coming for the Australian side as Cameron Green, who was hit on the head by a shot played by Jasprit Bumrah on Friday, is recovering well and showing some medical improvements.

“Cameron has shown clinical improvement overnight and is symptomatically better than yesterday. He will remain with Australia A squad where we will continue to monitor him,” Cricket Australia team doctor Pip Inge said..

Australia is yet to arrive on their opening combination as both David Warner and Pucovski are expected to be back only for the 2nd Test. Marcus Harris is likely to get the nod alongside Joe Burns but the two batsmen were struggling to put the bat on the ball against the Indian pace attack in the pink-ball warm-up match.
