IND vs AUS: Team India Creates History, Posts Highest-Ever Total Against Australia in ODIs

India scored 399 in the 2nd ODI against Australia in Indore

Team India appeared to be in excellent form during the second ODI at Holkar Cricket Stadium, continuing from where they left off in the series opener. They went on to post 399 runs on the scoreboard after being asked to bat first, which marks India’s highest-ever total against Australia in ODIs.

Following the early dismissal of opener Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer launched a relentless assault on the Australian bowling unit, putting on a brilliant 200-run partnership for the second wicket.

Gill notched up 104 runs from 97 deliveries, including six boundaries and four sixes, while Iyer contributed 105 runs from 90 balls, featuring 11 boundaries and three sixes. Additionally, captain KL Rahul and Suryakumar Yadav both registered half-centuries.

India secured victory in the first ODI held in Mohali, taking a 1-0 lead in the series. A win in the second ODI would see him taking an unassailable lead as they move towards the third and final ODI scheduled for September 27 in Rajkot.
