IND vs BAN: Rohit Sharma, Deepak Chahar, & Kuldeep Sen to Fly Back to India After Getting Ruled Out of Remainder of Series
Rohit Sharma, Deepak Chahar, and Kuldeep Sen ruled out of the 3rd ODI against Bangladesh.
The Indian cricket team suffered a huge blow as their skipper Rohit Sharma, pacers Deepak Chahar and Kuldeep Sen ruled out of the third and final One Day Internationals (ODI) match against Bangladesh due to respective injuries.
While captain Rohit and Chahar picked up injuries during the second ODI in Dhaka, Kuldeep Sen, who made his international debut in the first ODI wasn’t part of the playing XI due to a stiff back.
India’s head coach Rahul Dravid confirmed the developments regarding the trio in the post-match conference after the 2nd ODI in Dhaka. He also confirmed that Rohit would travel back to India to consult a doctor and see whether he would be fit enough to come back for the Test series.
Here’s what Dravid said:
“Kuldeep, Deepak, and Rohit will certainly miss the next game. Kuldeep and Deepak are out of the series, and Rohit as well will certainly miss the next game, fly back to Bombay, consult with an expert and see how it is and whether he can come back for the Test matches or not; I’m not sure. It’s too soon to say that. But all three of them won’t play the next game for sure,” said Dravid.
Kuldeep Yadav Added to India’s ODI Squad:
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) added the left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav to the squad for the third and final ODI following a spate of injury concerns.
KL Rahul will lead the team in the third ODI, scheduled to be held at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong on Saturday (December 10) in the absence of regular skipper Rohit Sharma.
Team India lost both the first two ODIs of the three-match series and has already lost the series. While it will be a dead rubber for both sides, the Men in Blue will look to win this game and salvage some pride.
