Bangladesh opener Zakir Hasan etched his name in history books as he struck a magnificent hundred in the second innings of his debut Test against India at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium on Saturday, December 17.
With this, the 24-year-old has become only the fourth batter from Bangladesh to score a century on his Test debut. He has joined the likes of Aminul Islam, Mohammad Ashraful, and Abul Hasan on the elite list.

Hasan, who could manage only 20 runs in the first innings, stood firm with dogged determination and struck a sensational century from 219 deliveries, including 13 boundaries and a six in the final session of Day 4.
The southpaw was eventually dismissed by Ravichandran Ashwin in the 79th over. The left-handed batter earned his Test call-up following his consistent performance in the domestic circuit.
He recently finished as the leading run-scorer in the National Cricket League, where he garnered 442 runs at an average of 55.25 for the Sylhet Division. Also, he recently played a belligerent knock of 173 runs in the first unofficial Test against India A to help Bangladesh A draw the game.
As for the match, Bangladesh needs 241 runs to win the opening Test while India needs four wickets on the final and fifth day of the Test to take a 1-0 lead in the two-match Test series.
