For the upcoming India tour of Sri Lanka, significant changes have been made to the Indian squads, and it would not be wrong to say that it is ideally a new era, especially in T20Is for India.
Suryakumar Yadav has been appointed as the captain of the T20I team, taking over from Rohit Sharma, who has retired from the format in international cricket after winning the T20 World Cup 2024. Virat Kohli also hung up his boots in T20Is.
However, the legendary duo will be available for the ODI series. Also, this tour will mark Gautam Gambhir’s first official assignment as the head coach of the Indian cricket team.
