Amit Mishra Accuses Rahul Dravid of Favouritism Towards Shubman Gill
Amit Mishra said that Shubman Gill is a clueless captain.
India and Zimbabwe first played against each other in 1983 during the World Cup. Since then, they have competed in Test matches, One Day Internationals (ODIs), and Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is).
India has mostly been stronger in these matches. Earlier it was thanks to players like Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag and Rahul Dravid. Afterwards, it was Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and others.
India is visiting Zimbabwe again, this time with a young squad led by first-time captain Shubman Gill. Both the teams will be playing the five-match T20I series, starting from July 6.
With the T20I series starting soon after the 2024 T20 World Cup, senior players such as Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, and Suryakumar Yadav will not participate. Moreover, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Ravindra Jadeja have retired from T20 internationals.
Meanwhile, the young team includes several new faces such as Riyan Parag, Tushar Deshpande and Abhishek Sharma, who have earned their first India call-up after impressive performances in IPL 2024. They will make their India debut on the Zimbabwe tour.
VVS Laxman, the ex-Indian cricketer, will take on the role of interim coach for Team India during this tour.
