IPL 2020: Ashish Nehra Names His Best XI of The Tournament; Forcefully Excludes MS Dhoni
Ashish Nehra picked his best XI of the just-concluded Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020. Nehra excludes MS Dhoni in his team citing to his poor performance in the latest edition of IPL.
After the conclusion of the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League, many cricket experts and analysts are coming forward with their opinions about team and players. Meanwhile, Former Indian pacer is a new addition in the list.
Nehra picked his best XI of the just-concluded Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020. Starting with openers, he picked SunRisers Hyderabad captain David Warner and Kings XI Punjab captain KL Rahul. Both of them were in-form throughout the season. While KL Rahul was the Orange Cap winner of the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League with 670 runs in 14 games, David Warner once again crossed the 500-run mark in the cash-rich league. He scored 548 runs and was the third-highest run-scorer of the tournament.
For number three, he went with Mumbai Indians most consistent batsman, Suryakumar Yadav instead of Kohli as he feels that the former was more impactful with the willow. Suryakumar Yadav accumulated 480 runs in 16 games with 79* as his highest score. He also has four half-centuries in his name.
For the fourth spot, he picked RCB’s veteran batsman AB de Villiers while Mumbai Indians’ Ishan Kishan grabbed the fifth spot in Nehra’s playing XI.
For number six, Nehra picked Mumbai Indians’ star all-rounder Hardik Pandya, who had an amazing season this year.
For bowling department, the 41-year-old picked the spin duo of SunRisers Hyderabad’s Rashid Khan and RCB’s Yuzvendra Chahal. While Chahal picked 21 wickets, Rashid Khan picked 20 wickets in 16 games.
For the last bowling spot, Nehra stated that he will go with one among Mohammed Shami and Ravichandran Ashwin according to the condition.

Nehra also said that Purple cap winner Kagiso Rabada and SRH’s main batsman Kane Williamson are also two good options for the squad.
He further added that though he would love to have former Indian captain, MS Dhoni, on his side, he can’t pick him in his team citing to his poor performance in the latest edition of IPL.
“My thinking is that I will never make a team without MS Dhoni, but his tournament was not good,” Nehra stated.
