IPL 2020 – RCB vs CSK: In the 44th match of the 13th season of IPL, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by 8 wickets. In the match played in Dubai, Bengaluru won the toss and gave Chennai a target of 146 runs while batting first. In reply, Chennai won the match by scoring 150 runs for 2 wickets in 18.4 overs. Rituraj Gaikwad scored an unbeaten 65 not out while making his first fifty in the IPL.

CSK has won after losing three consecutive matches. With this win, Chennai has moved up to 7th in the points table with 8 points. At the same time, Bengaluru will have to wait longer to confirm their place in the play-offs. Bengaluru is at third place with 14 points in the points tally. A win would propel them to the tournament playoffs.

Ambati Rayudu scored 39 runs for Chennai. Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni remained unbeaten on 19 runs. Chris Morris and Yuzvendra Chahal took 1–1 wicket for Bengaluru.

Faf du Plessis and Ruturaj Gaikwad opened the innings for Chennai scoring 48 runs in the power-play. Both gave the team a good start and made a 46-run partnership for the first wicket. Du Plessis was out for 25 on the ball of Chris Morris.

Ruturaj Gaikwad – Fourth Youngest Player to Have a First Fifty.

Gaikwad is the fourth young player to have a first fifty in the IPL. He started at the age of 23 years and 168 days. At the same time, the record of making youngest fifty in the league is in the name of Suresh Raina of CSK. He made his first fifty in 2008 at the age of 21 years and 148 days. Sam Curran (22 years 142 days) is second and Parthiv Patel (23 years 76 days) is third.

Bengaluru Scored 145 Runs For 6 Wickets

Bengaluru captain Virat Kohli’s innings of 50 runs helped the team to score 145 runs for 6 wickets. Kohli hit a four and a six during his innings. Sam Karan of Chennai got 3, Deepak Chahar got 2 and Mitchell Santner got 1 wicket.

Kohli – de Villiers Partnership

Kohli and AB de Villiers handled the innings after the early dismissal of Aaron Finch & Devdutt Paddikal. There was an 82-run partnership for the third wicket between the two. De Villiers was dismissed by Deepak Chahar on an individual score of 39 runs.

Kohli completed 200 sixes

Virat Kohli completed 200 sixes in IPL. He is the third Indian and overall 5th batsman to do so in the league. Chris Gayle is at the forefront of most sixes. He has hit 336 sixes in 129 matches followed by AB de Villiers (231), Mahendra Singh Dhoni (216) and Rohit Sharma (209).

Virat Kohli 39th IPL Fifty

Kohli hits his 39th fifty in the IPL. He equalled Shikhar Dhawan (39) of Delhi Capitals in terms of putting the highest number of the fifties by an Indian batsman in the league. David Warner (46), the highest in the league, is at number one.

Kohli’s team landed in green jersey instead of their traditional dress in the match against Chennai. Bengaluru plays a match every season in a green jersey. The team does this to make people aware of Green and Clean Earth. In 2019, in the 20th match of the season, Royal Challengers Bangalore played against Delhi Capitals in a green jersey.
