Lucknow Super Giants’ debut season in the Indian Premier League (IPL) was a memorable one as they reached the playoffs in the 2022 edition under KL Rahul’s captaincy.
They will be expecting a better season next year, with a more balanced squad. Ahead of IPL 2023 auction, the Uttar Pradesh-based franchise has retained its core while releasing a few players.
West Indies all-rounder Jason Holder, Evin Lewis, Dushmantha Chameera, and Manish Pandey are some of the big names that Lucknow Super Giants have released ahead of the IPL 2033 auction.

1. Ben Stokes
The two-time World Champion Ben Stokes has proven himself as a match-winner in the shortest format of the game. He recently powered England to their second ICC T20 World Cup title after 2010.
Having a world-class bowler that is incredibly smart with the bat as well and is capable of batting anywhere in the top four is a huge asset to any team, so roping him in the squad might be a huge plus for Lucknow Super Giants.
Also, LSG has released Manish Pandey and Jason Holder ahead of the IPL 2023 auction and must be looking for a decent alternative. Ben Stokes could be the best choice in that case.

The former captain of Punjab Kings might reunite with his best friend and Karnataka teammate KL Rahul if Lucknow Super Giants decides to take a gamble in the IPL 2023 auctions.
Notably, Punjab Kings released Agarwal after an underwhelming season with the bat. However, barring the 2021 season, he has a good batting record in the cash-rich league.
Though Lucknow Super Giants already have openers in captain KL Rahul and Quinton de Kock, they might look to play him in the middle order.
