IPL 2023 Auction: Will Cameron Green Play In The IPL? Pat Cummins Answers
Pat Cummins said he will not take away the opportunity from Cameron Green to compete in the IPL from young all-rounder.
Australia’s ODI and Test captain Pat Cummins, on Thursday (November 17) confirmed that Cameron Green has registered for IPL 2023 auction.
Green hogged the limelight during Australia’s tour of India earlier this year where the 23-year-old clobbered two back-to-back half-centuries.
He has been equally impactful with the ball as well, consistently bowling 130-140 kmph, which makes him the hottest property heading into IPL 2023 auction.
“Yeah potentially (Green will enter his name in the IPL auction). We’ll wait and see, I think the auction is a little while away,” Cummins told SEN Radio.
“Selfishly as a captain, I’d love for him to save all of his energy for Australia.
“But how can you tell someone to say no to that kind of opportunity?” Cummins added.
The Perth Scorchers all-rounder has played 8 T20I matches so far for Australia, where they accumulated 139 runs at an average of 17.38 and a strike rate of 173.35.
Notably, the premier pacer Cummins opted out of the 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) due to the packed international schedule.
The auction for the 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is set to take place on December 23 in Kochi.
