Shaheen Afridi, the captain of Lahore Qalandars, has showered praise on Khawaja Nafay, the rising batting sensation for Quetta Gladiators, whose extraordinary performance led his team to a historic victory over Lahore Qalandars in the latest Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2024 match in Lahore.
Khawaja Nafay’s explosive innings of unbeaten 60 runs off just 31 balls powered Quetta to a remarkable victory, chasing down 188 runs with five balls to spare. Stepping onto the pitch during a critical phase with Gladiators reeling at 72/2, Khawaja Nafay faced a daunting task.
With anticipation initially on Quetta’s newly appointed captain Rilee Rossouw to spearhead the chase, the departure of the South African batter, after a brief knock of 18 runs off 13 balls, placed added pressure on Nafay. The 22-year-old, however, soaked up the pressure very well and stood tall till the last to take his side to a win.
