IPL 2024: Riyan Parag’s Father Prefers TV Over Stadium – Here’s Why
Riyan Parag has opened up on why his father prefers watching him on the TV.

The Rajasthan Royals’ (RR) batter Riyan Parag has been on fire this IPL 2024 season, delivering stellar performances with half-centuries against Mumbai Indians (MI) and Delhi Capitals (DC), and a standout display against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).
In a nail-biting chase of 126 runs, Riyan Parag’s unbeaten knock of 54 runs off 39 balls guided Rajasthan Royals to victory, clinching a crucial four-wicket win and extending their winning streak to three matches.
During the post-match conference, Riyan Parag discussed his streamlined approach, highlighting his decision to minimise distractions and complexities, a departure from his previous season’s methods, which has positively impacted his performance.
Here’s what Riyan Parag said in the post-match conference:
“Nothing has changed, just that I have simplified things. Before I would think about things too much, this year the goal is simple, watch the ball, hit the ball. It’s a funny thing, I have said it before, this is the exact situation I go in to bat in domestic cricket.”
“For 3-4 years I haven’t performed well (in the IPL.) When the performances are not coming, you get back to the drawing board. I practised really hard, I have practised these kind of scenarios.”
Riyan Parag also shared that his father chooses to watch him play on TV rather than attending live matches, as he prefers analyzing his performance from the comfort of home.
“Dad likes to watch everything from home, he likes to analyse everything, but my mom is here.”
