IPL 2024: Virat Kohli Breaks Suresh Raina’s Record, Becomes Indian with Most Catches in T20 Cricket
Virat Kohli now holds the record for the most catches in T20 cricket among Indian cricketers.
Virat Kohli, the stalwart of Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), achieved another milestone in his glittering career during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 match against Punjab Kings at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru on Monday, March 23.
Virat Kohli broke the longstanding record set by Suresh Raina for the most catches by an Indian fielder in T20 cricket, making a total of 173 catches, surpassing Raina’s earlier benchmark of 172 catches.
Kohli reached this milestone by grabbing a catch off Mohammed Siraj’s delivery in the third over of the first innings, dismissing Punjab Kings’ opener Jhonny Bairstow.
Virat Kohli currently holds the second position for the highest number of catches in IPL history, having played 108 matches. Suresh Raina sits atop the leaderboard with 109 catches.
