Lucknow Super Giants have announced Justin Langer as the head coach for the upcoming 2024 Indian Premier League season, following the conclusion of Andy Flower’s two-year contract with the team.
LSG franchise took to their official Twitter handle to confirm the development:
Andy Flower’s tenure as the head coach of Lucknow Super Giants proved fruitful, as the team clinched playoff berths in successive seasons after their inaugural appearance in the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League.
While in the 2023 season of the cash-rich league, it was Mumbai Indians who dashed their title hopes in the eliminator, in the 2022 edition of the IPL, it was the Royal Challengers Bangalore who prevented them from advancing to the qualifier.
Talking about Langer’s coaching stints, the former Australia player helped the Men in Yellow to their maiden T20 World Cup title in 2021 and was also part of his side’s dominant 4-0 Ashes victory. Langer has also tasted success in Australia’s elite domestic competition, the Big Bash League, clinching three titles with Perth Scorchers.

Furthermore, reports have surfaced surrounding Gautam Gambhir’s potential departure from Lucknow Super Giants, as he considers a comeback to Kolkata Knight Riders, the team he previously led to two IPL titles. However, no definitive statement has been released to confirm these reports.
