Mohammad Amir Makes a Comeback from Retirement to Play in T20 World Cup 2024 for Pakistan

Mohammad Amir has made himself available for selection in T20 World Cup 2024.

Four years after announcing his retirement from international cricket, the pace star of Pakistan, Mohammad Amir, has reversed his decision and made himself available for selection in the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024.

Mohammad Amir stated that he made this decision after having some positive conversations with the Pakistan Cricket Board, as they made him realize that the team needs him right now. Taking to X [Formerly Twitter], here’s what Amir wrote:

“I still dream of playing for Pakistan! life brings us to the points where at times we have to reconsider our decisions, There has been few positive discussions between myself and the PCB where they respectfully made me feel that I was needed and can still play for Pakistan after discussing with family and we’ll wishers I declare that I am available to be considered for upcoming t20WC ,I want do this for my country as it comes before my personal decisions. Donning the green jersey and serving my country has always been, and will continue to be, my greatest aspirations.”

Even after retiring from international cricket for Pakistan, Mohammad Amir remained actively involved in various cricket leagues across the globe, retaining his status as one of the most feared fast bowlers.

With Mohammad Amir potentially joining the Pakistan squad for the T20 World Cup 2024, it could establish one of the most intimidating pace attacks among all teams, which comprises the trio of Shaheen Shah Afridi, Mohammad Amir, and Naseem Shah.
