Mohammad Kaif Refuses to Accept Australia as Winners of the World Cup 2023

Australia beat India by six wickets in the final of the ODI World Cup 2023.

Australia shattered India’s dreams of ending a decade long ICC trophy drought, sealing a poignant six-wicket win in the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 final held at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.

India was one of the best sides in the World Cup 2023, remaining unbeaten throughout the group stage by winning all nine matches. They then secured a spot in the final by defeating New Zealand by 70 runs in the first semi-final of the tournament.

Though Australia clinched a solid win, former Indian cricketer, now turned commentator, Mohammad Kaif wasn’t ready to admit they were the better team, tagging it as a tough day for India.

Here’s what Mohammad Kaif told Star Sports:

“Congratulations to Australia but I am not ready to accept that the best team won the World Cup. This Indian team has been the best side. They would win so many times playing against the same Australian team, even though they lost today. It was one of those bad days, this happens sometimes.”
