MS Dhoni Recreates Iconic 2007 World Cup Look, Internet Buzzing with Viral Pictures
MS Dhoni announced his retirement from international cricket back on 15 August 2020.
MS Dhoni, India’s most accomplished captain in the history of Indian cricket, is sporting a classic long-hair look in recent photos that has gone viral on social media.
The World Cup-winning captain burst onto the international stage with his iconic long hair, and he maintained the same hairstyle when he led the Men in Blue to victory in the inaugural T20 World Cup in South Africa in 2007.
After leading the Chennai Super Kings to their 5th IPL title in the previous Indian Premier League season, MS Dhoni has expressed his willingness to make a comeback in the next IPL season as a gesture of appreciation for his fans. However, his return hinges on his fitness, and he will only play for Chennai Super Kings if his body permits.
“If you circumstantially see, it’s the best time to announce retirement. The easy thing for me to say is thank you and retire. But the hard thing to do is to work hard for nine months and try to play one more IPL season. The body has to hold up. But the amount of love I have received from CSK fans, it would be a gift for them to play one more season. The way they’ve shown their love and emotion, it’s something I need to do for them.”
