Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians’ social media post following the squad reveal sparked controversy, as they did not put up a picture of Rohit Sharma in the post. Instead, they included pictures of Jasprit Bumrah, Shreyas Iyer, and KL Rahul.

Notably, tensions have reportedly escalated between Mumbai Indians and ex-captain Rohit Sharma, especially in the aftermath of announcing Hardik Pandya as the captain for the upcoming IPL 2024 season.
