ODI World Cup 2023: Gujarat Titans’ Rising Star Noor Ahmad Traps Mohammad Rizwan with Clever Delivery in PAK vs AFG Clash
Noor Ahmad dismissed Mohammad Rizwan for 8 runs in PAK vs AFG World Cup 2023 clash
Afghanistan young spin sensation Noor Ahmad made his World Cup debut for Afghanistan on Monday, October 23 in the team’s clash against Pakistan at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
The 18-year-old prodigy wasted no time making his presence felt as he sent Pakistan‘s star batter, Mohammad Rizwan, packing. The keeper-batter had been in sensational form throughout the tournament.
Noor Ahmad deceived him with a full delivery outside off, and Rizwan’s slog sweep attempt resulted in a mistimed shot, with the ball edging off the bat and into the safe hands of Mujeeb Ur Rahman at fine leg.
Noor Ahmad initially burst onto the scene while representing the Gujarat Titans (GT) in the Indian Premier League. Although he played a handful of games for the Hardik Pandya-led side, he displayed brilliant spin bowling skills.
Noor has played in professional franchise leagues across Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, India, and Australia in his short career thus far.
He made his T20I and ODI debut for Afghanistan against Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka respectively in 2022. He seems to be a great fit alongside Afghanistan’s experienced spinner, Rashid Khan.
