PAK vs NZ - Pakistan will face New Zealand in the 1st Test at National Stadium, Karachi.
Pakistan (PAK) will lock horns with New Zealand (NZ) in a two-match Test series, starting on Monday in Karachi. New Zealand is the third major team to tour Pakistan for a Test series this year after Australia and England.
Earlier, England displayed their Bazball approach and thrashed Pakistan 3-0 in the three-match Test series. The visitors looked way too defensive while facing the Three Lions.
Pakistan is currently placed sixth in the ICC Test team rankings and a 2-0 series defeat to New Zealand would see them slip to seventh place. A defeat in this series will also kill their World Test Championship (WTC) final qualification chances.
New Zealand, on the other hand, is already out of the World Test Championship (WTC) final qualification race having lost six Test matches, however, they will look to start the new year with a win under their new Test captain Tim Southee.

Pakistan Squad For New Zealand Test Series 2022-23
Babar Azam will continue leading the team while Naseem Shah has retained his place in the squad after missing the third and final Test against England. Haris Rauf meanwhile is yet to recover from the injury he sustained during the Rawalpindi Test against England and hence he hasn’t been added to the squad.

Tim Southee will lead a new-look New Zealand squad that will be without their star pacer, Trent Boult and Kyle Jamieson. Leg spinner Ish Sodhi has been recalled to the Test team after 4 years while the middle-order batter Glenn Phillips and uncapped pacer Blair Tickner have also been included in the squad.
