PCB Implements Mandatory Yo-Yo Test for Pakistan Players
The Pakistan Cricket Board has introduced the yo-yo test for Pakistani cricketers, which they must pass to be eligible to play for the national team.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is set to enforce the yo-yo test for all players representing the national team. This fitness test is now mandatory following consecutive early exits from the ODI World Cup 2023 and T20 World Cup 2024.
The decision comes as the fitness standards of the Pakistan cricket team have been criticized. Wicket-keeper batter Azam Khan has faced scrutiny for his fitness levels. Recently, a video of Pakistan captain Babar Azam looking out of shape went viral on social media.
Before the T20 World Cup 2024, the team underwent rigorous military-style training, but this did not translate into improved performance, resulting in disappointing results and an early exit from the tournament.
The yo-yo test has been a standard requirement for athletes at national and international levels. Although it was previously implemented for Pakistan cricketers about five years ago, it is now being reintroduced to ensure players meet required fitness standards.
